NEW Bridging Program


Western University will be offering an alternative basis of admission to the Diploma in Pedorthics for students without a Kinesiology degree. 

The bridging program provides an alternative path for students with science-related backgrounds who do not meet the regular admission requirements.

This comprehensive four-month online program covers the requirements necessary to proceed the Diploma in Pedorthics by offereing the following core competecencies: Biomechanics, Exercise Physiology, Systemic Functional Anatomy and Introduction to Athletic Injuries, preparing students who do not have a Kinesiology degree to enroll in the Diploma in Pedorthics. 

To proceed to the Diploma in Pedorthics program, students must obtain 70% or higher in the course, with no single unit grade below 60% . The online Diploma in Pedorthics will begin in September, following the successful completion of the Pedorthics Bridging program.


Program Details

Admission requirements: an undergraduate degree in STEM (life Science, health science or related field) with a 0.5 degree credit anatomy course.

Application will close on February 15, 2020. 

Begin the online Bridging course in May with conditional acceptance to Pedorthics Diploma program

One course with four individual units: 

  • Exercise Physiology
  • Biomechanics
  • Introduction to Athletic Injuries
  • Systemic Functional Anatomy

Course Fee: $1250

Note: The Bridging Course is not OSAP eligible. Students may choose to pay the course fee in 2 equal installments of $625.
